Photo Beasts

With a  Filmmonsters Photo Beast Party, you can host a photography party for friends. The party starts with a Digital Photography Scavenger Hunt. Through this process, the children pair up and learn photography essentials, such as composition, lighting and choosing subjects. After reviewing the digital photos, the children will learn to use 35mm film cameras to take candid snapshots and portraits of each other.

   Key Terms:

Composition: Arrangement of artistic parts so as to form a unified whole, its structure or organization .

Lighting: The sensation of perceiving light, brightness or illumination.

Candid: Not posed or rehearsed. An unposed, informal photograph.

Portrait: A likeness of a person, especially one showing the face, that is created by a painter or photographer, for example.

Digital Photography: A method of photography in which an image is digitally encoded and stored for later reproduction.

Photographic Film: Photographic material consisting of a base of celluloid covered with a photographic emulsion; used to make negatives or transparencies.
